None can comprehend the ultimate awesomeness...ok thats a terrible use of words...of the end of exams coupled with packing and leaving the place and people that have looked after you for the last four years!
Joy and sadness, relief and new stress, the excitement of adventure and fear of never coming back. The world for me is changing and its getting hard to keep up.
A legend has been born.
At the beginning of form two I obtained a pair of black leather boots. In them I feel like I can (and presently will) conqueror the world. Right thru college I wore them. Nearly every afternoon they carried me 4km home. They've tapped the sides and felt the stirrups of possibly every horse I've ridden in the last decade. They were with me when I rode HIM - the one - MY horse...!
AND NOW! After conquering college; they have been my faithful companions right thru University!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have walked the summer dune lands of the North and traversed the frosts and snows of Canterbury and the Southern Alps. They have survived nearly every insanity I and my horse have come up with. I even once wore them to a ball... (They are comfy! And heels and my height don't mix)
They are not special or expensive or fancy - but they are loyal and eleven yrs old.
And legendary...
Go ahead and laugh...
But there's one scary thing that has yet to be divulged...
